Michael Murphy AttorneyMr. Murphy grew up in central New Jersey and went on to matriculate at Rutgers University.  While attending Rutgers he met his wife  with whom he has two daughters.  After graduating from Rutgers in 1994, Mr. Murphy attended the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond.  While in law school Mr. Murphy competed nationally in moot court competitions, namely, the Judge R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition in New Orleans in 1998.  He graduated from law school in 1998 cum laude.
 
Mr. Murphy has been in private practice since his admittance to the Virginia State Bar in 1998.  His practice concentrations are: insurance subrogation, creditors’ rights and civil litigation.  Mr. Murphy is also a member of the Virginia Creditors’ Bar Association and the National Association of Subrogation Professionals.
