Christy Monolo

Mrs. Monolo grew up in the Tidewater Region of Virginia and on the Outer Banks of North Carolina before matriculating at Wake Forest University where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She then went on to study law at the Tulane University School of Law where she was on the Journal of International and Comparative Law. She graduated from law school in 2001 and joined Chaplin and Gonet shortly thereafter.

 

In 2007, Mrs. Monolo left the firm to work for the Civil Litigation Section of the Virginia Attorney General’s Office where she practiced in federal court as well as on all levels of state court, including successfully arguing several cases before the Supreme Court of Virginia. Mrs. Monolo also worked for the Louisa County Attorney’s Office before rejoining the firm in 2017. She has a unique perspective as she has practiced in both the private and government sector and on both the plaintiff and defendant side. Mrs. Monolo was admitted to practice in Virginia in 2001. Her practice concentrations are civil litigation and insurance subrogation.
